AIL Scoresheet League
The AIL, or AL Internet as Scoresheet insists on calling
us, was formed just prior to the 1995 season as a hurried draft completed
slightly after the strike's end to mark the beginning of the Scoresheet
mailing list's first AL league. The list's first league, the NIL
or NL Internet, is the AIL's "sister league". The champions of the respective
leagues meet each year in a virtual World Series. The AIL leads the series
6-3, after the NIL reclaimed the trophy in
'03.
Mike Trickey's Blame Canada claimed their 3rd title in
4 years and became the first team to repeat in AIL history:
-
2003 - Blame Canada (team 5) owned
by Mike Trickey
-
2002 - Blame Canada (team 5) owned

-

-

(team 6) owned by Seth Bienstock

5) then owned by Reede Stockton
AIL Summary
'03 Playoffs
Mike Trickey became the first owner to ever successfully defend
an AIL title, as Blame Canada claimed its third title in four years.
Blame Canada edged Jon Lithgow's Mudville Thespians 4-2 in an
extremely close series (runs scored 22-20). The entire series was composed
of one run games, three of which went into extra innings. Barry Zito
managed to win two for Blame Canada to put them over the top.
Jon Lithgow's Crash Davis division champ Mudville Thespians advanced
to meet Mike, by slamming Lew Stansby's wildcard Evil Empire, 4-1.
Lew in his first season in the AIL managed to take the Evil Empire from
worst to wildcard in a single season, quite impressive.
Blame Canada then met the NIL champion
Fat City Hunchbacks, owned by Tony Chin. Mike's Canadians dropped
the series in 6 games marking only the 3rd AIL loss in 9 tries.

Draftmeisters
The AIL owes a debt of gratitude to the three draft-meisters
who have helped us run our e-mail round-by-round draft over the years.
Brian
Jones was the original draft-meister for the rushed '95 draft.
Kraig
Smith then provided invaluable aid in '96 & '97. Current draft-meister
Dave
Karpuszka helped us throughout the '98, '99 & '00 season and is
continuing the tradition in 2001...Thanks to all three for their help -
nothing beats the help of a reliable draft-meister! Mail
draftmeister Dave.
