NOTE- James Hugh Patton was born in Va 1822, married in Fairfield Co 1849, living there 1850 in Berne Twp. He moved in 1850's to Shelby Co Ill. His descendants claim that he was son of a Patton from Rockbridge Co. Va. Since a younger bro Isaac was born in or around 1830 in Ohio it seems that their parents came to Ohio about 1829 or so. Need to check tax lists, available 1816-1838. Based on census records, it seems likely James H was son of James Patton, b ca 1790 who enlisted in war of 1812 in Frederick Co Va.
