[33A] Maj Samuel Patton married Elizab. Walls, was on 1787 Berkely Co Va tax list. He was heir of an earlier Samuel Patton (will 1758 Frederick Co Va). She was dau of Maj Samuel Walls (will, 1786) and was in Louisville (later Ky) in 1786.
Hardin Co was formed 1792 from Nelson Co Ky. Thomas Walls Patton md Eliz Miller 1808 in Hardin Co Ky. This COULD be the man on page 166 of census above, assuming his father Samuel and many sibs lived with him? I find no other likely Thomas Patton as head of hh in 1810
One researcher thinks William Patton (above) went to Orange Co Ind. Looking at his children, this man had three daughters under ten in 1810; the man who lived in Orange Co did not have 3 daughters age 10-19 in 1820.

*It is said this was Col David Morgan, rev war soldier from Pittsylvania Co Va. A history of that co. mentions a well known Col Haynes Morgan, who is found on 1778 tax list. I do not find a David Morgan in this area in 1787. Five men of this name lived in Ky-Va then. David is mentioned very often in early Floyd records, obviously well-to-do.
